Real Customer Stories | Trxstle Rod Carrier Accident

When you invest in quality gear, you expect it to perform—but sometimes, it’s put to the test in ways you never imagined. That’s exactly what happened to one angler last December in North Carolina. What started as a routine drive to a favorite wild trout stream took a sudden turn—literally—resulting in a high-speed accident that left a Jeep totaled. But through it all, one thing remained unscathed: the Trxstle CRC System Rod Carrier.

This real-life story isn’t just about a close call—it’s about trust, durability, and a piece of gear that went above and beyond to protect what mattered most. Read on to see how the CRC System stood up to the challenge.

Here’s the story, told firsthand by Trxstle customer Dr. Jay Campbell.

"During finals week here at Wake Forest University (in NC) last December, I had the chance to get out of the office early and head to one of my favorite wild streams up at Stone Mountain State Park. On the way there, I popped up over a hill only to find a car completely stopped in the road. In an attempt to "do no harm" I swerved my Jeep Wrangler sharply to the left at 55 mph...

I was in for quite the ride and so was my TRXSTLE CRC System Rod Carrier!  After careening into a ditch on the other side of the highway from the stopped car, I bounced up and down while my Jeep switched left then right then eventually sharply back to the left before flipping over and onto its side.

The Jeep was totaled. My reinforced hardened steel crossbars were bent. BUT what about my rod carrier? Unphased...still attached to the crossbars, clamps intact and functioning.

The TRXSTLE rod carrier protected my Father's Day rod (which holds great sentimental value to me) and left it unblemished, along with my other graphite rod/reel combo I had planned to use that day on the water...

My Jeep was tough. It protected me. But my TRXSTLE rod carrier was just as tough. It protected my investment. At the end of the day, you can't put a price on a product doing EXACTLY what you paid for it to do, and in the case it went the extra step.

I intend to stay a customer for life."
